@ Home With A Sunda Woodpecker Thursday , April 23, 2003 A special visitor came flying in out of the blue ![]() This is a Sunda Woodpecker otherwise known as the Brown Capped Woodpecker ![]() It can be found through out South East Asia, residing in mangrove forests and, in some cases, neighbourhood parks or in the urban jungle. ![]() It is the smallest woodpecker found locally. ![]() This is a female woodpecker. The males have a distinct red patch behind the eyes. ![]() Its diet consist of insects and worms found in dead wood. ![]() What a beauty! Back
